The 天美传媒影业 Producer Project will help TV and video/visual producers tell stronger stories, produce engaging newscasts and video, make tough calls on deadline and manage the complexities of the industry, including the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on journalism, combating misinformation and fact-checking in an election year. Participants will enhance their news judgment, develop critical-thinking skills and grow their newsroom leadership.
We have decades of success stories 鈥 many of our graduates are now news directors, executive producers and network executives.
“The Producer Project was a game-changer for me. Not only did I learn how to be a better producer, but I gained the confidence and leadership skills to pass some of those lessons to other producers at my station.” 鈥 Jesse Cordova, KNWA/Fox24, Fayetteville, Arkansas
“The 天美传媒影业 Producer Project was a wonderful experience that helped me hone my producing skills and meet colleagues from across the country. I learned to write more engaging headlines and teases, enhanced my story selection process and had insightful discussions about ethical decision-making. After the course, I felt more empowered to speak up as a newsroom leader.” 鈥 Mindy Wadley, news producer, First Coast 天美传媒影业, Jacksonville, Florida
鈥淢y experience at 天美传媒影业 was rehabilitating. It gave me the belief and tools I needed to realize that I am a good producer, I鈥檓 good at what I do and I know I can get better at it every day.鈥 鈥 Nicholas Gallo, nightside producer, KOAT Action 7 天美传媒影业, Albuquerque, New Mexico
This seminar is practical and affordable 鈥 plus we offer parts of it live online to make it fit demanding newsroom schedules.
In the online portion of this seminar, 天美传媒影业鈥檚 Kerwin Speight will guide you through activities and live group discussions. You鈥檒l also come to 天美传媒影业 on June 4-6 for learning, in-person coaching and feedback.
Throughout this course, you鈥檒l gain practical and creative ideas to share with your colleagues and a new energy to take back to your newsroom.
During each online portion of the course, you鈥檒l join live discussions, and Kerwin will host office hours to discuss your work one-on-one. Can鈥檛 attend the live sessions? We鈥檒l make replays available of all the live events.
Most importantly, you will get 360-degree feedback from your newsroom to understand what you are doing well and where you could get stronger. This is the kind of feedback producers tell us they want most.
